The trial of the man accused of killing Feilding farmer Scott Guy has been moved from Palmerston North to Wellington.
Mr Guy, 31, was shot dead in the driveway of his home in July last year and his brother-in-law, Ewen Macdonald, 30, has been charged with his murder.
Earlier this week a hearing took place before Justice Simon France regarding where the trial should be held.
The judge on Friday ruled that the trial will take place at the High Court in Wellington in June next year.
In his decision, Justice France says the application to relocate the trial has been granted because there are risks that jurors drawn from the Palmerston North jury district, including Feilding, could be influenced by the amount of speculation and rumour there has been about the case.
