Firefighters have put out a large blaze at a timber yard in Hastings.
A security guard discovered the fire at Total Building Supplies on Omahu Road about 2.20am on Friday.
Seven fire engines were sent to the scene.
The Fire Service is investigating whether the blaze is suspicious.
