12:41 pm on 26 November 2011

Police in Bay of Plenty police want public help to catch a man they say committed a brazen daylight robbery in a busy shopping mall.

They say the Smith City Lotto Shop in Kawerau was robbed about 12pm on Friday.

While only a small amount of cash was stolen, they say it was a carefully planned aggravated robbery.

Police say the offender walked in, demanded cash and left via the rear of Smith City, possibly fleeing in a waiting vehicle.

The offender is described as Maori, about 180 centimetres tall with a goatee.

He was wearing a light coloured hoodie and track pants, black glasses and beanie and black shoes.

He was carrying a black shoulder bag with a white stripe.
