Gloom at climate conference

Hopes of reaching a new binding new treaty on climate change are waning, with two days of negotiations left in Durban, South Africa.

Feuds have broken out over the future of the Kyoto protocol.

United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon has begged for the Kyoto protocol to be retained, saying it is the closest thing to a global binding climate agreement.

New Zealand's Climate Change Negotiations Minister Tim Groser says the talks are as frustrating as trade talks.
