Police in Dunedin are investigating a serious assault that has left a 28-year-old man in a critical condition in hospital.
Three other men also required medical treatment following an incident on the corner of George Street and Moray Place at about 2.30am on Saturday morning.
Police say a 25-year-old man appeared in Dunedin District Court on Saturday on an assault charge and was remanded in custody.
They say further charges are likely and are appealing for anyone who was in the area at the time to come forward.
