A man has been arrested and charged with assault following the death of a man in a nightclub in Manurewa.
Police say the man, 30, died inside the club at about 4am on Saturday. A homicide investigation is underway.
A 28-year old man is due to appear in the Manukau District Court on Monday.
The police are still working on a scene examination and are interviewing witnesses.
They are also working with the dead man's family to contact relatives in Australia before they release his name.
A post-mortem examination was completed on Saturday, but the police say they will not release the results until further tests are completed.
