A New Zealander who was doing business in Vanuatu has been shot and killed in what media there report could have been a dispute over land.
Dick Eade, who moved to Vanuatu 35 years ago, was a recruiter for New Zealand's Recognised Seasonal Employment scheme.
Police in Vanuatu say a man is in custody and will appear in court on Friday charged with intentional homicide in connection with Mr Eade's death.
Mr Eade owned a large vegetable farm which supplied most major hotels in Port Vila.
The Vanuatu Daily Post newspaper reports he had been planning a major land sub-division.
