Concern for missing mother and her baby

5:54 pm on 31 December 2011

Auckland police are concerned for the well-being of a mother and her young child who have not been seen since Christmas Day.

Police say Natasha Pokai and her 3-month-old baby daughter are believed to be living rough somewhere in the inner city or in the Parnell area.

They were last seen at the Auckland City Mission.

Police say recent bad weather has heightened their concerns for the pair and they are appealing to anyone who knows of their whereabouts to contact Auckland police or Child, Youth and Family.

Ms Pokai is described as a Maori woman of medium build, about 1.5m tall, fair- skinned with long, light brown hair.

She has missing front teeth.
