Latest NZ deployment to leave for Solomons

More New Zealand Defence Force personnel are to leave from Ohakea Air Base on Monday for a tour of duty in Solomon Islands.

The group of 44 will be mainly Territorial Force officers who normally work in other jobs, including a vet, a postie and a Department of Conservation ranger.

It is the seventh rotation deployed to support the Regional Assistance Mission to Solomon Islands.

They will carry out patrols, liaison, provide assistance to the police and help with external security at Rove Prison in Honiara.
