A lightning strike took Radio New Zealand National off the air in Wellington for more than an hour and a half on Sunday afternoon.
Lightning struck the FM transmitter on Mt Kaukau in Wellington taking out Radio New Zealand National on 101.3 and 101.7.
Technicians had to travel to the site, driving in very bad weather, to restore transmission.
