Police are thanking a couple who helped them deal with a burglary in Opotiki this week.
They say the pair were driving past a house when they heard an alarm inside.
They drove inside the property and tried to block the exit of two men, who bumped their car out of the way and sped off.
The police say the couple pursued them long enough to take note of the registration number of their vehicle.
Officers later searched a property and have charged two men with burglary and drug offences.
