Police say a fire which has significantly damaged part a Christchurch library is being treated as arson.
A spokesperson says the Fire Service was called to the corner of Clyde and Jefferies Road about 2pm on Friday.
He says the blaze at the Fendalton library was well alight when fire crews arrived.
Anyone who noticed anything suspicious in the area overnight on Thursday is asked to contact police.
