Two children are still in a serious condition in Starship hospital in Auckland after the car they were in, rolled north of the city.

The crash happened on State Highway 16, between Helensville and Wellsford, at about 3.30pm on Saturday.

An infant, aged 15 months, is in a stable condition and a boy, aged three years, is critical but stable.

Three other people travelling in the vehicle, including another child, were also hurt, but hospital staff say they have been discharged.
