A man has been flown to hospital with serious neck and throat injuries after being thrown from his bike on a farm near Culverden in North Canterbury.
A St John ambulance spokesperson says the man in his late 20s was thrown from the bike after it hit a wire fence on Long Plantation Road at Balmoral.
Emergency services were alerted about 8.30am on Tuesday. The man was flown by Westpac rescue helicopter to Christchurch Hospital.
