A grass fire in the eastern Bay of Plenty township of Te Kaha has been extinguished.
The Fire Service says the blaze started from a bonfire in a paddock near State Highway 35 at about 11.30am on Friday.
At its height the fire covered an area of about three hectares.
The Fire Service called in a helicopter with monsoon buckets.
