A woman has been critically injured in a hit-and-run incident in Auckland.
Police say the 21-year-old was walking home along Richardson Road in the suburb of Mt Roskill just before 6pm on Monday.
They say a dark coloured four-door sedan was seen speeding along the road before running onto the footpath, hitting a rubbish bin and then striking the pedestrian.
Police say the driver did not stop.
The woman is in hospital in a critical condition on Tuesday.
