A wreath laying ceremony will be held at the National War Memorial in Wellington on Wednesday morning to mark the 70th anniversary of the fall of Singapore to Japanese forces in World War II.
Thirty-five New Zealand airmen and 40 naval officers were among those killed in the fighting for Singapore and subsequent operations.
The ceremony will be attended by two New Zealand veterans of the battle.
