The search for a missing boatie in Bay of Plenty has been suspended for the night.
The Rescue Coordination Centre began the search for Richard Rusbatch yesterday morning after his 12m yacht The Honfleur was found under power but deserted near Mayor Island.
A navy patrol craft, coastguard and a Land Search and Rescue team searched for the 56-year-old on Wednesday.
A Rescue Coordination Centre spokesperson says authorities will make a decision Thursday morning about whether to keep searching.
