Police in Christchurch have arrested a 23-year-old driver after a high-speed chase through the north-west of the city.
Police say the car was seen travelling at high speed shortly before 10am Wednesday.
Officers set up spikes at the intersection of QEII and Main North Road.
Police say the driver reversed into a patrol car to avoid the spikes and continued speeding but on the wrong side of the road.
He was eventually arrested outside a funeral home, where police say he was due to attend a funeral,
They say he is likely to face dangerous driving charges.
