Parts of Southland have been flooded due to heavy rain, closing bridges and roads on Friday.
Ellis Road near Five Rivers and the Pyramid Bridge, while Waiparu Road, near Freshford, is only passable by four-wheel-drive.
The closures will remain in place overnight.
Southland District Council is urging drivers to take care throughout the Waikaia area due to flooding.
