A man jailed for the rape and murder of the deaf Christchurch woman, Emma Agnew, has been denied the chance to take his case to the Supreme Court.
Liam Reid is serving at least 23 years in prison for the crimes against Ms Agnew in November 2007, and for raping and attempting to murder a university student nine days later.
In 2009, the Court of Appeal reduced his minimum non-parole period but dismissed an appeal against his conviction.
Reid had planned to argue in the Supreme Court against certain DNA evidence and the tracking of Ms Agnew's cellphone.
But the Court says it has received nothing to cast doubt on either issue and the case has been dismissed.
