It was a relieved Canterbury rugby team which beat Otago 20-13 in the Air New Zealand Cup rugby match at Carisbrook on Saturday.
Canterbury led 13-3 at half time and scored a stunning try straight after the break to extend its lead to 20-3.
Otago came back, but just failed to score the try necessary to give it the draw in the last minute.
The end result would have been a relief for Canterbury after its shock 24-25 loss to Manawatu last week.
Bay of Plenty claimed a bonus point with a 45-3 win over a lacklustre Counties Manukau team at Rotorua International Stadium.
Any hope of a repeat of last weekend's upset win by Counties over Auckland was quickly extinguished by a competitive Bay side.
