1998 saw Eru back at Te Korimako o Taranaki in New Plymouth as breakfast host. and hosting a networked youth show Taiohi, as well as the Saturday night show on the iwi radio network.
Next he took up a reporting role in Auckland, at Ruia Mai - a Maori language news and current affairs radio station - part of Mai FM. An 18 month internship at Radio New Zealand, led in 2005 to Eru’s current role of Waatea news presenter on Morning Report and Checkpoint.

Away from Waatea and Waiata, Eru enjoys a good movie, especially a comedy, and is not too bad at pool!
