Fiji's Public Service Commission has found the director of roads, Mosese Nailumu, guilty on several charges of abuse of office.

The Fiji Times reports that this has been confirmed by the commission's permanent secretary, Taina Tagicakibau.

Ms Tagicakibau says when the commission heard the case Mr Nailumu had pleaded guilty to some charges and had made a plea in mitigation.

She says the commission has decided to re-deploy Mr Nailumu to another ministry on the same seniority he had as director of roads.

The decision follows an inquiry into three contracts to supply gravel awarded by Mr Nailumu to a company owned by his two sons.
