An advocate for Australia's Asylum Seeker Resouce Centre says all communication from the Australian detention centre on Papua New Guinea's Manus Island has been shut down since rioting earlier this week.
One Faili Kurd from Iran is dead, and over 70 people were injured after rioting on Sunday and Monday night - 5 people had injuries so serious they had to be transferred to Brisbane.
Pamela Curr says her organisation last heard from asylum seekers while violence was raging late on Sunday, but since then there's been a ban on communications.
"There's been a complete shutdown of communications, no one is allowed to use email, no one has access to the phones, no one has access to the interpreters and neither are they allowed to speak to anyone else and lawyers and migration agents are also under surveillance and they're not given any information."
Pamela Curr says authorities are trying to hide the fact they have blood on their hands.
