Sport: PNG footballers to go all out in must-win clash

Papua New Guinea are in a confident mood ahead of this afternoon's decisive Women's Under-20 World Cup football qualifier against New Zealand.

Both teams go into the final round of the Oceania Championship off the back of convincing victories against Tonga and Vanuatu.

But hosts New Zealand do have a superior goal difference which means a draw would be enough to seal a World Cup spot.

So it's win or bust for PNG and their coach Rachel Wadunah says they'll give it their best shot.

"They're excited but at the same time they're thinking too much about the game. They're looking forward to playing: we have some new girls, we have some experienced girls that have played New Zealand so I'll be banking on those girls to show leadership in the game."

Meanwhile Vanuatu and Tonga will go head to head in the early game in what amounts to a battle to avoid the wooden spoon.
