Missing Fiji election laptop triggers police search

Employees of the Electoral Commission in Fiji have been questioned by police after a staff member reportedly took away a laptop with sensitive information.

Fijivillage reports the Criminal Investigation Department is trying to recover the laptop.

The Commission chairman, Chen Bunn Young, says an internal investigation is underway.

Mr Young says he is still verifying the type of data contained in the laptop.

It is not known how the incident is affecting the elections promised for September.
