A former Salvation Army caseworker says colleagues at the Australian detention centre on Nauru fabricated the individual management plans of asylum seekers.
The case worker, who wanted to remain anonymous, told the Australian network SBS that the plans, designed to monitor the asylum seekers' mental health and education, were copied and pasted from other plans because of pressure to meet performance targets.
She says that after riots in July 2013, colleagues were told to copy generic statements from a particular plan so there would be as many management plans completed in as short a time as possible for Australia's Immigration department.
The Salvation Army no longer holds the welfare contract at the camp, but has released a statement strongly denying the claims made in the report.
