Solomons shelters continue to fill after floods

People in Solomon Islands are continuing to make their way to evacuation centres in Solomon Islands after last week's devastating floods.

23 people are confirmed dead and authorities say at least 9,000 displaced people are occupying 24 evacuation centres around Honiara - an increase of nearly 2,000 people since the previous count on Saturday evening.

They say numbers are continuing to increase across all centres.

The National Disaster Management Office says the food rations which are being distributed are expected to run out today.

And it says food, water, clothing, and toiletries are all needed urgently.

Sanitation has also become a concern in the evacuation centres, due to lack of water supply.
