The New Zealand foreign minister has confirmed he has not seen a World Bank report on Tonga's transport industry as he is due to meet Tonga's Deputy Prime Minister tomorrow.
Samiu Vaipulu, who has been locked in a long dispute with Murray McCully over the certification and safety of the MA-60 aircraft gifted to Tonga from China, says he will be in Wellington tomorrow to see Mr McCully, and will bring all his documentation on how he certified the plane.
Mr Vaipulu says he is angry at the World Bank which has sent Tonga a draft of the report, without having consulted him on the plane.
The World Bank says it had sent two drafts last month to the Tongan government and it welcomes feedback on the report.
Mr McCully and the Tongan Prime Minister, Lord Tu'ivakano, commissioned the industry-wide review by the World Bank in March, but Mr McCully says he has not yet received a copy of the report.
