Two asylum seekers, held in the Australian run detention camp on Nauru, have been sentenced to jail terms after being convicted of rioting and unlawful assembly.

They were convicted last month after the violence at the camp in July last year in which damage estimated at 55 million US dollars was blamed on the inmates.

One man got a sentence of two years and five months for unlawful assembly and rioting, and the other was jailed for 11 months for rioting.
