There are reports from Niue that a protestor was arrested for a day without being charged while the Prime Minister of New Zealand visited the island.
The man reportedly placed placards along the road the Prime Minister, John Key, was to travel from the airport, relating to a protest at the Chamber of Commerce.

"There are reports the man was assaulted by two police officers who were on their way to the airport to provide security for John Key.
The signs related to a protest over a land rent issue and lack of government action over recycling.
The man says the officers assaulted him before he was locked up for the remainder of Mr Key's visit, which ended that afternoon.
He was released that night without charge and is considering suing the police."
