A court hearing in Papua New Guinea over an arrest warrant for the Prime Minister will be held this afternoon.
Peter O'Neill has filed an application for his arrest warrant to be put aside, after gaining a stay on the warrant last week.
The warrant was prompted by Task Force Sweep announcing it had new evidence that the Prime Minister was involved in the corrupt payment of tens of millions of dollars to a law firm.
The Prime Minister says he was earlier cleared of any wrongdoing by the task force, and says its chief Sam Koim has now politicised the process by appearing on ABC television in Australia criticising the PM.
Last week a dispute arose between the police's in-house lawyer, backed by sacked police officials, and another lawyer, Paul Mawa, supported by the Acting Police Commissioner, Geoffrey Vaki.
Mr Mawa said at last week's hearing that his instructions were not to oppose the Prime Minister's application.
Today's hearing will be at 1:30pm local time.
