Papua New Guinea's former Attorney General Kerenga Kua has urged the Police Commissioner to follow a court order and enforce an arrest warrant issued on the Prime Minister Peter O'Neill.

The new Attorney General Ano Pala has determined that there is nothing illegal in payments made by the state to Paraka Lawyers, despite the matter being referred to trial.
However the arrest warrant over Mr O'Neill's alleged role in the payments has been upheld by the national court.
Mr Kua warns that Geoffrey Vaki, who was appointed as Commissioner by Mr O'Neill after the arrest warrant was issued, must not allow himself to be manipulated.
This sense of impunity and arrogance has to be brought to an end. We are a country of law. Everybody, including the Prime Minister and his Police Commissioner - I'm saying his Police Commissioner because this Police Commissioner doesn't serve PNG but serves the Prime Minister - so the Prime Minister and his Police Commissioner ought to follow the law.
Kerenga Kua says those officials frustrating the execution of the warrant are in contempt of court.
