The warning follows recent findings that over 5,000 (5,379) people have registered to vote multiple times, with one person having registered nine times.

Meanwhile, Mr Lilo says the new biometric registration system has been a success, with 160,000 so-called ghost names removed from the country's electoral roll.

Out of 343,000 eligible voters, 98 percent have enrolled to vote in the election that has to be held by the end of the year, with an actual date yet to be announced.
