Vanuatu governemnt advisor sacked for scheming

A ministerial advisor in Vanuatu has been sacked after being caught in discussions with opposition MPs on a possible motion of no confidence in the government.

Derek French was an advisor in the ministry of agriculture and was caught on a mobile video talking with shadow ministers about possible defections, and implicating the name of David Tosul, his minister.

Mr French is a member of the Graon mo Jastis Pati and has been dismissed by the party's President, Ralph Regenvanu, who is the lands minister.

Mr French was caught discussing options with the opposition leader and former Prime Minister, Moana Carcasses

The Prime Minister, Joe Natuman, says he will not tolerate those seeking to destablise the government.
