The Electoral Commission says the lists are on their way to the 951 voter registration centres, and voters should go and check their details are correct.

The Chief Electoral Officer, Polycarp Haununu, says only people who registered during the Biometric Voter Registration period will appear on the Provisional Voters List, and any others will not have another chance to register before this year's election.

Mr Haununu says almost 6000 people registered twice, and they will be able to vote in the constituency of their first registration.

He says it's been a "massive logistical task" getting the lists to all the centres across the country and says people should be patient especially those in extremely remote areas, who may get to see the list later this week.
