A refugee advocate believes that the Australian government plans to close its offshore asylum-seeker processing centre on Papua New Guinea's Manus Island.
An asylum seeker was killed at the detention centre more than five months ago during two nights of violence but PNG police are yet to charge anyone over the death.
The spokesperson for the Refugee Action Coalition Ian Rintoul believes that the Manus Island centre is being wound down.
"The government has sent nobody to Manus Island since Reza Barati was killed there in February and there are no single men being sent to Manus Island whereas the situation in Nauru, the government is slowly expanding accommodation there."

Ian Rintoul says reports that Cambodia could take as many as 1,000 refugees from Australia's processing centre on Nauru are a concern.
He says Cambodia has its own issues with poverty and unemployment and wouldn't be a stable place for refugees to settle.
