Papua New Guinea finally chalked up a win in their final match at the Top End Cricket Carnival in Darwin, chasing down East Asia Pacific's 20 over total of 114 with two balls to spare.
The Barramundi's had earlier suffered a seven wicket defeat by the Australian Indigenous team.
East Asia Pacific, which comprises players from Vanuatu, Fiji, Japan and Papua New Guinea, are still winless after three matches.
They will play the Indigenous team in a further two 50 over and one T20 encounter from Wednesday and coach John Ovia is confident a breakthrough win will come.
"Boys need to step up and never ever back off. We have to move forward - what has happened has happened - but the guys are looking forward to the next match. The boys are looking good. The last three days the team has learnt a lot from T20 and also the 50 over game".
Meanwhile Papua New Guinea take on the United Arab Emirates in a couple of 50-over clashes before heading to Adelaide to compete in the South Australian Premier League.
