Guam Airport stifles CNMI lin, says carrier

Star Marianas Air has accused the Guam International Airport Authority of sabotaging its plans to provide flights between Guam and Saipan in the Northern Marianas.

The Tinian-based airline says proposals to start Guam-Saipan flight have fallen at the wayside after the authority refused the airline access to the Guam commuter terminal, instead offering them an interim location in a freight area of the airport.

The carrier says this would put the airline at a distinct disadvantage to United Airlines and Cape Air, which currently operate the route exclusively.

The airline says it has been trying to gain access to Guam International Airport for two years.
