Australia's Refugee Action Coalition says the recent release of unaccompanied minors from the Nauru detention centre indicates that protests there are having some effect.
Twenty-nine unaccompanied minors were released into community housing on Tuesday, following a series of protests in the detention camps.
80 refugees also marched peacefully on the Australian High Commission earlier this week, directing chants against Australia's Immigration Minister, Scott Morrison.

Ian Rintoul says the surprising move to release the unaccompanied minors is a direct consequence of the protests.
"We'll see whether that remains when things settle down, but the fact that they have been released into the community is a step forward. I think in that respect it's a small indication that some things have been gained by the protests."
Ian Rintoul says until there is a proper solution for re-settlement, the discontent among refugees can only grow.
