The Fiji Police Force says it will not send replacements for the United Nations Mission in Liberia because of the Ebola crisis gripping the West African country.

The Fiji Times says police have reports from UNMIL that indicate the morale among Fijian police personnel is high and the officers all are in good health.

The police spokeswoman, Ana Naisoro, says the force will stick with the existing phasing out of the 27 officers after the completion of their one year tour of duty.

She says all necessary precautions are in place and the first lot of officers is expected back in the country at the end of next month with the last batch to return in May 2015.
