Samoa's Prime Minister, Tuila'epa Sa'ilele Malielegaoi, has been asked to compensate a three-year old child for being locked up by the police with his father last month.

A New Zealand-based Samoan lawyer representing the child, Leulua'ialii Olinda Woodrooffe, says the father who is charged with driving an unlicensed vehicle has been summoned to be one of the witnesses in the police tribunal.
Leulua'ialii says this is her first approach on the matter.
"I will also be speaking to the prime minister about a compensation for him. No wrong should go without acknowledgement by way of a compensation."
Leulua'ialii Olinda Woodrooffe says she will pursue the matter and is prepared to go to court and as a last resort to the Human Rights Court in Geneva.
