11:46 am on 11 November 2014

The New Zealand Heartland XV has named their team to play a Cook Islands Residents XV in a match which kicks off tomorrow afternoon at the National Stadium in Rarotonga.

The Heartland team consists of players who take part in New Zealand's lower level provincial competition.

Their coach Kurt McQuilkin has made 8 changes from that side that beat a New Zealand Marist XV 46-31 at the weekend, including a new halfback combination of the Buller pair Andrew Stephens and James Lash.

Pete Rowe of Wanganui is captaining the side.

The two sides will meet a second time over the weekend.
