Sport: Samoa Rugby Chair says players want members to quit

12:48 pm on 14 November 2014

The Chairman of the Samoa Rugby Union and Prime Minister Tuila'epa Sa'ilele Malielegaoi says disgruntled players have asked for two members of the Board to quit.

Tuilaepa says the players had threatened to boycott this month's England game if the action was not taken.

He says he wrote back responding to the matter and it is now resolved.

Tuila'epa says many of the players grievances surrounded allowances.

His comments come a day after the International Rugby Board said they were addressing player concerns and a strike had been averted.

The IRB says it expects Samoa to meet their tour commitments fully.
