American Samoa's Hunkin keen on US post

The sister of a former American Samoan Congressman Faleomavaega Eni Hunkin has made known her intention to run for the seat her brother was held.

Vaitinasa Dr. Salu Hunkin Finau is currently the American Samoa Government Director of Education.

She announced her intentions at a meeitng of the American Samoa Democratic Party.

It's not the first time that Vaitinasa would be seeking public office.

In 2012, she unsuccessfully ran for governor with running mate Iuniasolua Savusa.

Both she and Savusa were picked by the winner of the governor/s election Lolo Moliga as memebrs of his cabinet.

American Samoa's seat in the US Congress is held by first-term Congresswoman Aumuia Amata Radewagen who is seeking re-election
