A former Nauru MP says the treatment of a former president of the country is 'insane' as he languishes in hospital after collapsing last week.
Sprent Dabwido has been trying to reach Australia for urgent medical attention due to a critical heart condition, but the Government's Justice Minister, David Adeang, cancelled his passport before he could leave.

Squire Jeremiah said Mr Dabwido is desperately waiting for the Secretary of Justice, Graham Leung, to return from Fiji to deal with the matter.
He said a doctor and hospital director in Nauru have since left the country after writing a referral for Mr Dabwido to see a specialist in Australia.
"This is crazy, this is insane, it's a new level of really discouraging people from standing against the government. You'll end up in the same position as Sprent. And this is very serious, I believe the international community needs to step in and help," he said.
