The MP who holds the deciding vote on partial asset sales says he is not feeling pressured to withdraw his support for the sales.
Legislation enabling the Government's partial sale of four state-owned energy companies had its first reading in Parliament Thursday afternoon.
A community group has been formed in Peter Dunne's electorate, Ohariu, to put pressure on him not to vote for the legislation.
But the United Future leader says he has made it clear that he will be supporting the legislation.
Mr Dunne says he has received letters from local constituents in support of the asset sales.
