Labour MPs ignore Collins' legal threat

The two Labour MPs being threatened with legal action by the ACC Minister have decided not to respond to her letter demanding a retraction.

Judith Collins is accusing Trevor Mallard and Andrew Little off defaming her with their comments about who leaked the name of ACC claimant Bronwyn Pullar to the media.

Ms Collins wrote to both MPs and Radio New Zealand on Thursday, demanding a retraction.

She says she has been very clear the leak did not come from her office.

Ms Collins says she takes her reputation extremely seriously and is taking action.

Prime Minister John Key says Ms Collins advised him in advance and he is more than happy for her to take legal action.

However, Mr Little says he and Mr Mallard are not going to respond to Ms Collins' letter because there is nothing meaningful to respond to.

Radio New Zealand says it has taken legal advice and responded accordingly.
