Economic Development Minister Steven Joyce says there is no deadline on negotiations with SkyCity to build a convention centre in Auckland.
Talks between government officials and the casino operators have been going on for a year.
It is proposed that SkyCity build the $350 million convention centre in return for an expansion to its casino operation in Auckland, including more gaming machines.
Mr Joyce says negotiations are continuing and can't say how much longer it will take.
